I have taken a few days to work through my feelings of discouragement over the permit process and the uncertainty of whether or not we can have a venue on our property. It’s still my dream and still something I want to pursue. This is where faith comes in for me. If this dream is something that God has planned for me, it will happen, no matter the opposition. The next time I am home, I will meet with the County of Ventura permit department and see what I need to do to move forward with my dream. In the mean time I continue to find inspiration and make plans.
I found this picture of my garden I had when we lived in Knights Ferry, California. It reminded me of how much I love to garden. It has been years since I’ve been able to be home long enough to have a garden like this. Part of my dream is to have our property, Stone Creek Farm, generate enough income that Ron and I can both stay home and do the things we love.
I want to be able to have classes on all sorts of stuff, soap making, painting and flower arranging, just to name a few. Today, I signed up for a pottery class so I can learn how to use a pottery wheel to make my own flowerpots for the herb farm. Maybe I’ll become proficient enough that I can add that to my list of classes as well.
Hopefully, in the near future you can all come visit me at Stone Creek Farm, wander through the gardens, sit by the creek and perhaps we can have a cup of tea together.
Until then, I’ll keep you posted.
